The Slipway is a quaint hotel that was originally an old boat yard, still active in the repair and maintenance of old boats, has been expanded to offer an interesting mix of leisure, entertainment, shops, restaurants and the best craft market in town.
Location
It is located 15 minutes from the city centre in the magnificent Msasani bay; guests will be blown a ay by the breathtaking sunset view over the Indian Ocean and by the natural peaceful environment.
Accommodation
The Slipway offers both short & long term stay. It is the ideal place to visit between International flight connections as tourists can slip into a day room to relax, unwind and shower before a long journey on to their next destination. Tourists can leave relaxed and refreshed. The Slipway has studio apartments that are perfect for the longer term travelers.

No fees will apply for cancellations 2wks in advance
Notice of 2 wks or less prior to arrival - 25% charge
Notice of 1 wk or less prior to arrival - 50% charge
Notice of 48hrs or less prior to arrival - 100% charge
Shopping
The Slipway has a shopping are known as ‘The Souk’ which has a wide variety of local handicraft shops which trade in locally made items great for picking up gifts and curios. The Slipway also offers a selection of general services, a beauty salon and spa, a bank, supermarket, boutiques, boat shop and electronics.

Activities
Bongoyo is a 20 minute passage from The Slipway across the Indian Ocean. The island offers a vast sandy beach where one can relax under a ‘Makuti’ (thatch) Banda and swim in the clear blue sea. Sunset cruises, boat & fishing charters can be booked from The Slipway.
Wining & Dining
There are various areas that offer guests the opportunity to wine and dine, these include: The Terrace Restaurant has a relaxed but elegant atmosphere. The specialties of this restaurant is Italian offering delicious pastas and tasty seafood dishes. Azuma the Japanese Restaurant serves a select menu of Traditional Japanese cuisine using freshly caught fish straight from the unpolluted Tanzanian ocean. Captain Ali’s Pub is centrally located in the square, making it the perfect meeting spot to grab a chair, sip a cold drink and enjoy a tasty Pub meal. The Mashua Waterfront Restaurant is a living room at the waters edge. The simple menu touches reflects the local flavors, along with the perfect thin crust pizza from a wood burning oven.
