Tarangire River Camp has a prime position in the 25,000 hectare concession area set aside for conservation by the local Maasai community of Minjingu. The camp is close to the old Baobab that dominates the dry riverbed, and is made up of 20 Luxury Safari Tents and an elegant elevated thatch and timber structure comprising of a main lounge and dining area.
An impressive landscape of ancient monumental baobab trees and acacias gives the visitor an amazing natural welcome to an area extraordinarily rich in wildlife, outstanding big herds of elephants that are common within the whole Tarangire ecosystem. The camp offers stunning views of the Tarangire River, Lake Manyara, the Rift Valley, Ngorongoro highlands and Oldonyo Lengai.
Location
It borders the Tarangire National Park on its north western limit and is only 3.5 kms from the main Park gate.
Accommodation
Each of the 20 spacious tents features generous wooden decks, en suite facilities and private verandas with stunning views of the Masai plains, the forested area of the park and on clear days even the distant Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. There are 16 double tents and 4 triple/family tents under thatch, maximum 48 guests. These luxury tents are built on raised wooden decks; front row tents are 1mt. off the ground, whilst the back row tents are 2 mts. off the ground. They offer en suite bathroom with a shower, basin on wooden stand, flush toilet, hot water evenings, mornings cool water, Luggage rack, bedside tables, clothes hanger. The beds are under completely enclosed mosquito netting. There is a roofed porch at front of each tent with chairs, table and front rooms have a lounger.

How to get there
Take the main road out of Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Once you leave the main tar road onto the dirt road going to the Park, after 6 kms you will see the sign on the right hand side of the road. Follow the main bush road and signs to camp +/- 8 kms. You will see TRC on the opposite side the river, cross the river and follow the main bush road up to camp.
