Jambo Inn Hotel is located in the heart of city centre. The proximity has paid parking available opposite the hotel allowing easy mobility and access to customers. It is located approximately 12km (20 minutes) away from the Dar-Es-Salaam International Airport.

This quaint hotel has a hospitable atmosphere and has a limited number of rooms. There are Single, Double and triple rooms. All rooms are en-suite, although some of the rooms have air-conditioning and some have fans.

CORAL BEACH

KIPEPEO BEACH VILLAGE

Situated just behind Kipepeo Beach, Kipepeo village is an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. As the sun starts to set behind the Kipepeo Village the view from the balcony is simply stunning. Its close proximity to town makes it an ideal place to recharge after a tough day in the hot and humid city nearby. A quick dip in the ocean followed by a cool shower in your bungalow, then relax in the hammock on the balcony with an ice cold drink.

All 20 ‘bandas’ (swahili for hut) are built in the dense indigenous bush and elevated in order to ensure a stunning view of the sea and to take advantage of the cool ocean breezes. Each Banda has its own private bathroom, with hot and cold running water, and electricity. The bandas can be set up as twins (two singles), doubles, or family rooms. The design for the bandas was inspired by traditional mud huts built in the villages nearby, giving the bandas their uniquely African feel; without upsetting the laid-back, and remote, atmosphere that made the place so popular amongst locals and foreigners alike. The balcony acts as an ideal 'hideaway' to watch the many different birds species found in the surrounding bush. Regular visitors are Kingfishers and Fish eagles. A resident family of about 12 mongoose also live in the surrounding bush and they can occasionally be spotted running around and playing in the dense bush.

More basic accommodation is also available close-by at the campsite.

THE SLIPWAY (THE SOUK)

The Lazy Lagoon offers 12 large airy self contained bandas with twin or double beds, the upper loft can be used as either a lounge or be used as extra accommodation for children. Wide shaded verandas, room service, complimentary laundry service, Tea/ Coffee available on request, moon lit dinners on the beach, peace and tranquility are just some of the reasons for spending a romantic few days on Lazy Lagoon.

RAS KUTANI

Ras Kutani is set on a crescent of white sandy beach, washed by the gentle surf of the temperate Indian Ocean. The lodge is situated only 35 kilometers South of the port of Dar es Salaam but offers the perfect hideaway. The setting ensures that feeling of being on one's own tropical island. The lodge is flanked by a fresh water lagoon abutting onto a coastal forest, which spills to the edge of the unspoilt and undeveloped beach.

Accommodation is in nine spacious, delightful cottages constructed of natural, local materials that harmonize perfectly with the wonderful surroundings. Ethnic furnishings impart a sense of the Tanzanian coast's rich cultural heritage. Each cottage has its own en suite bathroom and large veranda with views of the azure ocean

On top of the hill stand four suites and a family unit all with stunning views.

UPEPO PWANI

Upepo Pwani is a quaint family operated lodge situated on amazing stretch of beach, approximately 3 kilometers north of Kilwa Masoko. There is a cool atmosphere due to the constant on-shore breeze, from where the lodge got its name – ‘Windy Beach’ in Kiswahili. The hotel is run in an eco-friendly way and the management also participate in community projects. Guests may visit the project during their stay. This lodge is suitable to guests who do not mind basic amenities that allows for the preservation of the environment and creates a more innate setting.

The rooms are simple stone and thatch bandas with twin beds. Currently the showers are shared, however there are plans to make the rooms ensuite. Power is provided by a mixture of solar and generator.

KILWA SEAVIEW RESORT

Kilwa Seaview Resort is situated on top of a cliff overlooking the Kilwa Masoko bay. It is situated near the Kilwa Ruins. Kilwa is recognized as a World Heritage Site. The restaurant and bar were constructed around an old baobab tree with panoramic views of the island of Kilwa Kisiwani with its 14th century ruins. The resort enjoys a 250 meter stretch of white sandy beach, beckoning one to swim, snorkel or just relax.

The accommodation at Kilwa Seaview Resort is in large stoned bandas, mosquito & insect proof, with en- suite bathrooms, and a verandah. The bandas are large and roomy equipped with fans and 3 to 4 beds ideal for families in African style all with views of the ocean. Some bandas are equipped with a T.V.

There are a number of activities to participate in: visit historical sites, caves, snorkeling, diving, dhow sailing, deep sea fishing, sailing, birding or simply relaxing on the beach or at the swimming pool.

THE OLD BOMA

The Old Boma Hotel is a 100 year old fort, beautifully restored into a comfortable hotel with up to date facilities, whilst retaining many original features and charm. It is considered to be a national monument. The Old Boma is located on the side of a hill overlooking the Indian Ocean, providing breathtaking views from dawn to dusk.

The spacious guest-rooms are furnished with hand-carved beds, Tinga Tinga paintings and other local handicrafts. The rooms are kept cool by high ceilings and thick walls, coupled with ceiling fans. Most rooms have a balcony with a sea or garden view.

Accommodation at The Livingstone Club is of European standards. There are 40 comfortable rooms made up in ten brick bungalows, with the typical makuti roof, surrounded by a luxuriant tropical garden with interspersed coconut trees. Each room (for two or three people) has a brick ceiling and offers a wide veranda. All rooms are provided with air conditioning, fridge, ceiling fan, a safe, bathroom with shower and hot water, orthopedic mattresses, telephone. The furniture, which exalts the local taste and tradition, is composed of ancient tester beds with mosquito nets and other wooden handicraft accessories. There are murals by "tinga-tinga" and the floor has wood inlays. Laundry service is provided.

Palm Tree Village Beach Resort located near the historical town of Bagamoyo, is a remarkable hotel on the shores of the Indian Ocean. In the nearby vicinity, there are very beautiful historical sights to visit. These include: Oldest East African Church, Dr.Livingstone Church, and Kaole ruins where there was early historical settlements in East Africa.

The hotel has 46 comfortable air-conditioned rooms, each with its own bathroom. All rooms command an ocean view. With a design inspired by the traditional East African village, the hotel is for the most part naturally built of local materials. The high-rise roofs are covered with the leaves of coconut palms. The leaves, called ‘makuti’ offer natural insulation. They keep the indoor temperature comfortable during the summer season, even without air-conditioning. The unique traditional Zanzibar beds, copied with care to preserve essential details, have nevertheless been modified to offer modern comfort.

A TENT WITH A VIEW

A Tent with a View offers a peaceful retreat from which to explore Tanzania's only coastal wildlife reserve. It is located on the beautiful Indian Ocean beach surrounded by the stunning bush of Saadani National Park. Local materials have been used wherever possible, including timbers from beached dhows, and from coconut palms felled by elephants. Lights, refrigeration, and water heating are all from solar power.

There are ten luxury tented rooms and three luxurious suites which include a truly unique honeymoon suite, Venus. All the suites and eight luxury tents are raised up high on large wooden platform terraces whilst two are at beach level. All are private and well spaced along a pristine stretch of Indian Ocean beach. Each room offers full en suite facilities and large balconies with hammocks overlooking the azure sea. Throughout the lodge, emphasis is on relaxation and appreciation of the natural environment which is reflected in the thoughtful design of the accommodation and restaurant bar.

SAADANI SAFARI LODGE

Saadani Safari Lodge has recently been rebuilt and refurbished. This is an eco lodge. It runs on solar power. The lodge is unique due to the absence of coconut trees. Whilst this distracts from the typical image of tropical beaches, it means the true indigenous plants of the savanna are conserved in one of the last coastal nature reserves in Africa.

This lodge is quaint and intimate offering only 9 individual tented cottages set along the beach, cooled by the ocean breeze and shaded by casuarina trees. Cottages are twin and double with swathes of sail cloth adorning the ceilings, large romantic Zanzibar style nets and locally carved furniture. Each is fully ensuite (hot and Cold running water) and they hall have an unrestricted view of the ocean with a full-length veranda. Double rooms all have special Saadani "Al Fresco" beds positioned on the outside verandahs. The twin rooms have two single beds.

EMAYANI BEACH LODGE

Emayani is a small & friendly lodge built in a coconut grove on the shore of Tanzania’s mainland, just opposite to Zanzibar Island. They have a gift shop.

There are 12 thatched bandas all directly facing the Indian Ocean are constructed from locally renewable materials. 10 bandas have king sized beds & 2 bandas have twin beds. The rooms are spacious with all beds having mosquito nets. All bandas are en suite with solar heated water + 24 hour power with large verandahs. Complimentary morning tea & coffee are served at your banda.
