For thousands of years the beautiful waters of Tanzania’s Indian Ocean have been a magnet for traders, fishermen and explorers from the Far East, Persia and the Arabian Peninsula. These exotic influences have resulted in a wonderful mix of cultures, style, architecture, cuisine and people. The Tanzanian Coastline offers miles of pristine beaches and spectacular scenery. Immediately south of Dar es Salaam are some beautiful beaches and pleasant resorts. The area is known for its mangrove trees, surrounded by woodland, which attract monkeys and a variety of birds. It is also a favourable place for watersports, snorkeling and fishing. A vista of sunny beaches, aquamarine waters and beautiful views, the Tanzanian Coastline also provides access to centuries’ old mosques and fascinating ruins.A gorgeous stretch of 800 kilometres/500 metres of coral-white, palm-lined beaches often fringed with feathery casuarinas or groves of coconut palms, the Tanzanian Coastline features spectacular dive sites, and access to the fragrant Spice Islands and Stone Town, Unguja Island (the correct name for what today is known as Zanzibar).Beyond these beaches the coast is still largely undeveloped, its shoreline broken only by the watery maze where the Rufiji River flows into the sea Click here for Swahili phrases Please see here for International Flights Accommodation in the Swahili Coast of Tanzania
