Selous Wildlife Lodge is a newly acquired property of the Serena group of hotels, set on the Eastern bank of the Simbazi River, a tributary of the Rufiji, in the South West of the Northern sector of the Selous. Selous Wildlife Lodge is a tented camp comprising of twelve well appointed tents positioned under individually grass-thatched structures, luxuriously furnished with adjoining beautifully appointed colonial bathrooms.

A separate dining area and guest lounge overlook the natural water hole, all complimented by an outside viewing deck & infinity swimming pool.

What is truly astounding about this picturesque Tented camp is the untouched vista that surrounds it. Enormous trees & lush dense vegetation invite natural elements & one may enjoy unique sightings from the comfort of your tent deck. The tranquility in itself is therapeutic, & if one had to listen very carefully, you could be lucky to hear the flight draught of a butterfly’s wings.

Accessibility
Forty five minute flight from Dar-es-salaam to Stiegler’s Airstrip, where a half hour pleasant drive will have you at the lodge ready for your Selous Adventure.

Each of the tents is luxuriously furnished with adjoining beautifully appointed colonial bathrooms.

Children Policy
Children are welcome as the lodge encourages a unique experience to be enjoyed by the whole family. With paramount attention to safety & minimal disturbance to other guests, the lodge does not accept children under the age of 6. Family early child dinners (Between 18h00 & 18h45) policy applies to all children. Child minding services available.

Luggage
Each guest is limited to 20kgs on aircraft. It is advisable to use soft duffel bags to fit in the small compartments of aircraft within Tanzania. Some luggage can be left in Dar-es-salaam. It is a good idea to have two bags, one for clothes and equipment and another smaller bag with essential items guests may need during the day such as camera, sunscreen, Safari Jacket, scarf and hat.
