Built 1,400 meters above sea level on the western escarpment of the huge Rift Valley, Lake Manyara Hotel overlooks the glassy lake of the Manyara National Park. The lodge offers magnificent panoramic views of the national park below, and of the seemingly unending surrounding landscape.

LAKE MANYARA TREE LODGE

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is set on one of the most diverse parks in Tanzania. Located in Lake Manyara National Park; the park boasts an incredible wealth of habitats, from swamps and a tranquil lake to the mountain escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. In the heart of a mahogany forest in the southern reaches of the park, is the exclusive Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.

Each of the ten tree houses have been built on stilts, in the boughs of ancient mahogany trees, discreetly tucked away in the forest. The tree houses have been crafted from local timber and makuti (palm fronds) and feature large open decks and spacious rooms with large windows to invite the flourishing forest into the luxurious elegance of each room.

The interiors of the tree houses are a sumptuous combination of natural fibers, pure cotton linen and contemporary furnishings. The bedrooms consist of four-poster bed-like draping and earthy, understated accessories in natural colors and textures. Overhead fans and mosquito nets as well as en suite bathrooms with baths and large twin hand basins ensure that every comfort is attended to. There is an exhilarating outdoor shower while the private verandas have comfortable furniture and offer extensive views of the lovely forest environment.

KIRURUMU TENTED LODGE
(Permanent tented camp)

Kirurumu Tented Lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvelous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara to Mt. Losimingori and miles of seemingly untouched Africa. Impact on the Lodge's surroundings has been absolutely minimal, all utility lines are carefully placed underground and hot water is created by solar panels. As a result, bird life around the Lodge has increased and even the shy Dik-Dik, the smallest of the antelope family, has remained resident around camp.

The 20 tents are secure, secluded and spacious with deck-style wooden verandahs. All tents are insect proof with modern en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, soft lighting and flush toilets. The thatched dining room offers a wonderful view and selection of excellent local and European dishes.

Intimate Places Manyara Camp is a truly tailor made experience, they can set up private and exclusive camps.

Each tent consists of a bedroom, a dressing area, a separate shower and toilet each. The dressing area, shower and toilet are all “open air” so as to heighten the experience of living as one with your surroundings. Despite being able to enjoy some breathtaking views as you prepare yourself for the day ahead, privacy is still assured due to the clever design of the tents. And a cover made from ‘insect proof’ netting ensures that the bathroom and dressing room areas are a sealed unit with your sleeping area so as to keep out unwelcome visitors.

MARAMBOI TENTED CAMP

Maramboi Tented Camp situated on the shores of Lake Manyara and located in the migratory corridor of Manyara and Tarangire. An area of 25,000 hectares concession which has been set a side for conservation by the local Maasai Community.

Accommodation is in 20 luxury en-suite tents. They feature Twin beds or king size, Bedside table and bedside light, Luggage rack, Dressing table, Colorful rags and traditional safari chairs, Spacious private veranda.

WILD AFRICA MANYARA LODGE

Wild Africa Manyara Lodge located fifteen minutes from the park entrance, offers simple, good value accommodation in a truly beautiful setting. It is a good base from which to explore Lake Manyara National Park, a local Masaai village, or simply relax with a post-safari African massage. The linear nature of the camp ensures that sweeping views across the open grassland towards Lake Manyara and the Escarpment can be enjoyed from private terraces, the central boma and inviting infinity pool

There are 10 large, en-suite tented rooms; each is functional and well-presented. They are raised on polished wooden decks, complete with directors' chairs, and shaded by neat thatch. Well-lit pathways lead to the central dining and lounge area, which sits under an impressively waved thatch structure, and there is an upper level viewing platform affording fabulous sunset vistas.

MIGUNGA TENTED CAMP

Migunga Tented Camp is nestled in a quiet corner on the northwest of of Lake Manyara, at Lake Manyara National Park, which spreads out across the Great East African Rift Valley, dominating a vast landscape. Migunga is nestled away in a quiet corner of 35 acres of acacia forest. Often referred to as Tanzania's water wonderland due to the large number of bird life and animals the lake supports, Lake Manyara National Park is also famous for its' tree-climbing lions.

Migunga consists of 19 semi-luxury permanent tents on raised platforms with attached bathrooms and private veranda. The camp benefited from an upgrade which consisted of the addition of 11 new en suite spacious Meru tents and a new wood and thatch main building which houses the restaurant, bar and reading area. All the tents are discreetly placed around a central glade, offering shade and privacy but still only a short walk to the restaurant and bar.

MANYARA RANCH CONSERVANCY

Manyara Ranch Conservancy is an enterprise operating in partnership with the Maasai communities in partnership with the Tanzania Land Conservation Trust and the African Wildlife Foundation.

The Conservancy exists to protect the migration corridors that run between Lake Natron, Ngorongoro, Manyara, Tarangire and the Maasai-lands to the South.

There are several large dams on the ranch that attract and retain the wildlife within the conservancy area. There is a significant resident population of wildlife including groups of large bull elephants, breeding herds of giraffe, many lesser kudu, wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, oryx and eland. There are also predators, including lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal and bat-eared foxes. For many years, wild dogs have denned on the ranch.
