ITINERARY AT A GLANCE
Day by Day Itinerary DAY 1 - ARRIVE TANZANIA Arrive at Kilimanjaro Airport where you will be met by our representative, and transferred to Mountain Village Lodge. The Mountain Village Lodge is situated on a coffee plantation with views of Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro. Your accommodation will be in one of the charming stone cottages. Sit amidst beautiful gardens overlooking Lake Duluti. Overnight - The Arusha Hotel or similar. (Dinner) DAYS 2 - TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, you will depart by road to your private tented camp, situated at the boundary of Tarangire National Park. Tarangire, Tanzania’s third largest national park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The park supports a great diversity of wildlife, especially during in the dry season of July to November, when the Tarangire River provides the only permanent water supply in the area. During this season wildlife, including up to 6.000 elephants are concentrated along the river. Learning about their history is as fascinating as the views are breathtaking from the several hilltops in the area. Overnight Tarangire Safari Lodge or similar. (All meals included). Day 3 – MANYARA NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and others. Lunch at your lodge, afternoon game drive. Return to the Lodge for dinner & overnight at Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge. (All meals included) DAYS 4 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK After breakfast depart for Serengeti National Park with a stop enroute at Olduvai Gorge. Olduvai is the famous archeological site where the Leakey’s discovered remains of Australopithecus, Homo habilis and Homo erectus, bringing crucial understanding to the study of the evolution of the human species. From Olduvai you’re off to the “Great Serengeti”, likely the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world. The vast Serengeti plains cover an area of over 14,763 square kilometers and during the months of the migration, is the habitat of huge numbers of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson’s gazelle with estimates of up to 1.5 million. From December through March they concentrate at the Ndutu and Salei plains, where the calving season takes place, attracting the attention of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena. In June and July they move into the Western Corridor and in October and November the herds can usually be found in the northern Serengeti. The Serengeti "Kopjes" (massive boulder islands of granite), standing in a sea of grass, provide shelter to a great variety of plants and animals, from the elusive leopard to the tiny dik dik. You will spend four nights at a lodge set in a wilderness area, Dinner & overnight Seronera Wildlife Lodge or Similar (All meals included). DAYS 5 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds, to name a few. Overnight in Seronera Wildlife Lodge or Similar. (All meals included) DAYS 6 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK After to the north of Serengeti national park, with more game drive enroute. Arrival for lunch. Afternoon game drive or relax at the pool overlooking the vast Serengeti plains. Overnight in Lobo Wildlife Lodge or Similar. (All meals included) DAYS 7 - NGORONGORO CRATER After Early breakfast, drive towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrival at the lodge for lunch. The rest of the afternoon at leisure, viewing the crater from your lodge/room. Overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge or similar. (All meals included) DAYS 8 - NGORONGORO CRATER After Breakfast, Drive (with picnic lunch) into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day game drive inside the cater. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, to name a few. Your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. Lunch at the picnic site. Late afternoon ascend the crater to your lodge for. Overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge. (All meals included). DAYS 9 - DEPARTURE After breakfast, drive to Arusha for your flight back home or extension of your holiday.
