ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Arusha – Kilimanjaro Airport.
We'll meet for an introductory briefing by our representative upon your arrival in Arusha, before transferring you to the Mountain Village Lodge or similar for the evening.

Day 2: Kilimanjaro Climb - Arusha to Mandara Hut.
Breakfast, drive from your hotel to Marangu gate, we will spend about two hours for registration, payments of fees and final packing/ parking. Start climbing through dense semi-tropical terrain, to the first hut - Mandara Hut (9,000ft). Dinner and overnight stay. B.L.D.

Day 3: Kilimanjaro Climb - Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut.
Breakfast, Ascend through the alpine meadow, grassland and moorland to Horombo hut (12,000ft). Both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks can be viewed easily on the way. Dinner and overnight stay at Horombo Hut. B.L.D.

Day 4: Kilimanjaro Climb - Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut.
Breakfast, further ascending to Kibo hut (15,000ft). The landscape becomes very stony and eroded. Spectacular mountain vegetation like giant cactus, groundswell and lobelia appear on the way. Dinner and overnight stay at Kibo Hut. B.L.D.

Day 5: Kilimanjaro Climb - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak.
Wake up at midnight, and after a snack, proceed to the summit through Gilman’s point (18,640ft). It is about 5-6hours - 1-2 hours from Kibo hut to Gilman’s point and 2-3hours from Gilman’s point to Uhuru Peak (19,340ft) respectively, thus reaching the peak in the early morning on the 5th (fifth) day. Start descending after picture taking on the top to Horombo Hut for dinner and overnight after a short break at Kibo Hut. B.L.D.

Day 6: Kilimanjaro Climb - Kibo Hut to Marangu Gate - Hotel in Arusha
Breakfast. Descend from Horombo Hut to Marangu gate (2-3 hrs walking), where our car waits for you. After bidding our farewells to our guide and porters transfer to Mountain Village Lodge (or similar), for relaxation.

Day 7 Start of Safari: Manyara / Ngorongoro Crater
Early morning depart after breakfast. Your Safari starts with the drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Your Driver/Guide will make several stops along the way at various places of interest, including a stop at the edge of the escarpment overlooking Lake Manyara. After arrival in Ngorongoro you will descend into the crater for a game drive. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. Late afternoon ascend to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or similar. All meals included

Day 8 Serengeti
After breakfast you start on your way to Serengeti National Park. A picnic lunch will be provided. On the way you will stop at the Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made many significant discoveries, contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. After stopping for your picnic lunch on a ‘kopje’ (rock outcropping) in Serengeti you will continue further into the park and go on a game drive. Overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge or similar. All meals included.

Day 9 Serengeti
A full day of game drives around Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the migration of the herds you can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. As in Ngorongoro your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. Overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge or similar. All meals included

Day 10 Manyara
After breakfast we head to Lake Manyara. Nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park is recognized for its incredible beauty. You can see many game animals such as Buffalo, Elephant, Giraffe, Impala, hippo and others. Overnight at Maramboi Tented Camp or similar, at Lake Manyara. All meals included

Day 11 Manyara / Arusha / Zanzibar
After breakfast, Checkout and drive to Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar we will transfer you to the Ocean Paradise Hotel or similar, enroute we will do the Spice Tour. D,B.

Day 12-13 - Zanzibar
Relax and enjoy the beaches of Zanzibar.( There is a wide range of water sport activities you can do, like snorkeling, scuba diving, boat trips, cruises and more). All meals and overnight at Ocean Paradise Hotel or similar. DBB.

Day 14 – Zanzibar – Stone Town
Transfer to Stone Town, The Swahili House. Here we will show you this ancient town on our historical Stone Town Tour, where history appears to stand still. With visits to the House of Wonders, the Palace Museum (People's Palace), Dr. Livingstone's House and the Arab Fort amongst others, it is a fascinating look at the essence of Zanzibar. You will see Zanzibar's bustling market, winding alleyways, ornately carved and studded doors, two cathedrals and countless mosques! Overnight at Tembo Hotel. Breakfast and dinner.

(Optional: you can do a boat tour to Prison Island, the Safari Blue or a private island trip).

Day 15 - Depart
Transfer to the airport or harbor in Zanzibar.
